Knox County scores higher than state as a whole on health and well-being index


March 24, 2017 — The Tennessee Health and Well-Being Index, a new tool created by the Sycamore Institute, measures the drivers of health and tracks them over time. In a new release of the index, Knox County scored higher than the state as a whole in health and well-being.

The index also found that Knox County scored better on the social and economic environment, health behaviors and the physical environment than the state, but slightly worse on clinical care.

The statewide overall score for Tennessee was 6.6 out of 10, while Knox County’s score rested at 6.9 overall.
