Introducing Sycamore’s 2016-17 Research Plan

2016-2017 Research Plan

Building a public policy research center is time-consuming, exhilarating, frustrating, rewarding, and very hard work.  In crafting the mission and work of The Sycamore Institute, we challenged ourselves to ask and answer the hard questions about how to be an organization that will add value to public policy discussions in Tennessee:

  • What does it mean to be a nonpartisan and/or bipartisan organization?
  • How do we demonstrate our commitment to transparency?
  • What is the best way to equip decision-makers with data and evidence that will help them define and solve problems?

As a result, our approach to doing this work includes using transparent research methods, creating easy-to-understand graphics, providing analysis that acknowledges individual values but goes beyond partisanship, and building a bipartisan network of partners. In that vein, we are pleased to introduce our 2016-17 research plan above.

In the coming weeks and months, we invite you to read our reports and get to know us!
